What is Faith?
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. You may have heard this definition before but I want you to really think about it for a moment. Would you say that you have faith? So many times, we claim to have faith but when it comes right down to it; when things get hard, we actually don’t. Think about that definition. If you’re in a situation right now that is challenging; if your circumstances look hopeless, this is your opportunity to prove that you are a person of faith. Worrying, being afraid of what might happen, and imagining the worst-case scenario are all evidence of someone who has no faith.
They have nothing to believe in, nothing to hold onto. But a person who does, there is something very different about them. Their circumstances look pretty bad however, they seem to be calm, not worried, cheerful, hopeful even. How is this possible? The reason is that they’re taking the faith that they have and they’re applying it directly to their situation. Faith is the invisible bridge that gets you from where you are now to where you want to be. Is there any evidence in your life that you have faith?
