This is where maturity and growth start in the “Power in Confession.” If you are a believer, you may or may not be familiar with this. This is called a journey in life; we all are just walking it out. The Holy Spirit’s job is to lead and guide us. Reading the word and getting a good understanding of who our Lord and Savior is that’s our job. Saying yes to the Spirit of the Living God is a wonderful beginning of a life of freedom within yourself.
When you said yes to Jesus Christ that you wanted him to be your Lord and Savior, you said yes that you want a change in your life. You said yes, that you want to be taught a new way of life, which will have challenges and choices; however, you denounce the sinful side of life. That is why confessing to God is so essential, speaking it out of your mouth to let yourself hear those words.
Psalm32: 5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord. ”And you forgave the guilt of my sin.
Don’t be afraid of change or your next step; don’t put so much pressure on yourself. It’s a process. But, when you make mistakes, confess them but don’t fake them. You want to change by making a conscious decision. Yes, the choice is yours, just like the confession and the desire are yours. Be proud that you made a conscious decision to work on yourself.
Proverb 28:13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,
but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
Trust the process. He is waiting on you to confess or renounce for the real you to come forth. He is waiting for you to bring him into the situation. He wants to help you. It’s power in that it might not feel like it at first. It is a freedom in confession or renounces. For sure, you can’t surprise or shock the Lord with things you confess to him. He is waiting on you, to hear from you, out of your mouth to his ears.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
It doesn’t matter how big you think it is. It’s not too big that God can’t handle. Some people say, “Well, it’s complicated,” or make excuses. The situation is not so complicated that God doesn’t have the answers for it. Are you willing to talk to him about it? “He is listening.”
