Hebrews 6:18-19
18 So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. 19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
When a person makes a promise to someone, it is so important. It’s like a breath of fresh air to them, or a weight lifted off their shoulders because that person is going to do what they said they were going to do. When you make an oath, you are agreeing to perform an act or tell a story truthfully and in good conscience. By definition, an oath obligates you to tell the truth or act in a faithful way.
Telling the truth in our government we thought was a thing of the past. I am not saying our new administration is going to do everything correct and they are going to tell us the truth about everything. Because, we both know they are not, but if they are willing to acknowledge when they are wrong it’s a wonderful start.
Whether our government decides to tell the truth or not, the only one who gives us promises and guarantees with an oath is God.
Trust him, and he will fulfill every promise you read in the bible. The problem is not the promise or the guarantee. The problem is accepting the promise. Our attitude in waiting on the promise to come to life, when we read the promises he spoke about in the word.
Check your attitude
while you are waiting, continuing to do good for others. The word said we were created to do good works, Ephesians 2:10. It’s not a time to try to figure out when the promise you ask God for is coming, don’t try to make it come, don’t try to figure what it’s going to look like. Just know he will do just what he said, he is God just believe and know, that it’s on its way.
Trust Him….
